My South Dakota pheasant hunt
Modified By Todd Renihan on 1/6/2009 9:57:40 PM)
It has be some time now since my trip to SD the first week of November. The weather went from 60 degrees on Wed. to 12 degree wind chill with 60 mph gusts of wind on Friday. Tell me, how much lead do you give a flying rooster with his ass to the wind? Never enough is the answer- WOW ! Due to the standing corn still in the fields in the neighboring fields and having a few newer hunters, we were still able to manage 2 birds per day per person amongst 9 hunters. We were hunting west of Mitchell. The last day brought the wind, and inch of snow and ice. In Rapid City (4 hrs west) they had 12 inches of snow and Deadwood had 44 inches. Better to be in Mitchell...Everyone had a good time in the field and looking to go back next year. The steaks and wine at Chef Louie's were excellent and the Kong Club-well it was the Kongo Club.

Did anyone else go to SD? How was your trip? I hope to see you at the club and share a few stories.
Be safe,

Todd Renihan
